The District Strategy is shaping up
Published 21 Oct 2022
During last year’s public consultations, Council set out to ask people in the community what their big ideas were for the future of our district. Council received a lot of valuable inputs and they have now been compiled and processed. This has resulted in the Draft Tararua District Strategy - Thriving Together – 2050, which was approved in last month’s Council meeting.
The District Strategy sets out goals for the future, with concrete examples of how they will be achieved. It provides the direction to drive our district forward, adapting to environmental and social changes over the next 30 years.
The next step is to develop a Community Consultation Plan to make sure to get as much feedback as possible from the community on the draft strategy. The new Council will be driving this forward, so that the actions and plans needed to achieve our vision for the future can be finalised.
