Vaccine pass requirements have also been lifted to access the Council Chambers in Dannevirke and the DigitalSpaces facility in Woodville.

Council operated Pools (Woodville, Pahiatua and Eketāhuna), Libraries and Customer Service centres continue to operate without requiring vaccine passes.

Scanning in requirements for the purposes of contact tracing have been removed for the time being.

With the Omicron wave still moving down the country, New Zealand remains at Red under the COVID-19 Protection Framework. In keeping with this, face mask wearing in indoor locations, social distancing, and hygiene practices are still required.

Council is aware that some people have exemptions to wear face masks and will require evidence of this to access Council owned facilities.

The changes come after Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced a significant loosening of Covid-19 rules. Those changes include removing vaccine pass requirements, some vaccine mandates, QR code scanning and outdoor gathering limits.
