Approximately $5.3 million in financial assistance was requested of the $1 million fund for damage to land and farms. Due to the level of need identified, a huge amount of effort and time has been put into following up, validating, and assessing all information received for the fund.

The project team want to extend their thanks to all that applied to the fund. The caliber of applications was extremely high, and the detail provided is enabling the project team to make robust assessments.

With assistance from regional MPI staff, farm visits are being completed to get eyes on damage and assist farmers to ensure works can be completed by December 31st.

Throughout November farmers and growers can expect to hear back from the project team with funding decisions.
