Safer and Stronger By Working Together

Just as the Feilding Community Patrol Team answers the community’s call to help reduce crime and build safer communities, the Manawatu District Council answered the request for assistance in supplying a vehicle to help enable continuity of their community patrol.

Just as the Feilding Community Patrol Team answers the community’s call to help reduce crime and build safer communities, the Manawatu District Council answered the request for assistance in supplying a vehicle to help enable continuity of their community patrol.

The current community patrol vehicle is in need of replacement.  Without a vehicle, the service would be unable to continue.  As part of MDC’s commitment to community based initiatives, the ex-fleet vehicle was offered.  While the ownership of vehicle will remain with MDC, the operational running costs will be the responsibility of Feilding Community Patrol.  Once the appropriate branding has been applied and a police radio installed, the vehicle will be seen on patrol.

The Feilding Community Patrol currently has 23 volunteers as part of their committee but are always looking for more to be the eyes and ears for the police.  Patrollers work in pairs noting anything that could be suspicious and inform police immediately of incidents requiring urgent attention.  More volunteers are always welcomed are financial donations. If you are interested in learning more or joining the Feilding Community Patrol you can contact them through their Facebook page, email (feilding@cpnz.org.nz ) or by visiting the CPNZ website (cpnz.org.nz)
