Cyclone Hale Update

Manawatū weather update following Cyclone Hale - Thursday 12 January

Our roading team is assessing the damage from the rain that impacted parts of our district yesterday. Here is what we know:

1. Ruahine Road is closed due to a large slip that has come down and is blocking the road. Our roading contractors are on site now working to clear it.

2. We're inspecting the bridges in the Pohangina Valley for any damage, to ensure that they are safe for users. Until the inspections are completed, Raumai Reserve Bridge and Churchill Drive Bridge remain closed.

3. Pohangina Valley East Road remains closed from Makoura Road to Churchill Drive due to slips.

4. Hoihere Road remains closed due to flooding until further notice.
