Description: 1.2998ha adjoining or passing through Part Sections 9 and 10 Block XI Pohangina Survey District (RT WNB2/1185) shown as Section 1 on SO Plan 557632 (Part Opawe Road)

The road when stopped will be transferred to the adjoining owner and amalgamated with their land which is held in Record of Title WNB2/1185 and a public access pedestrian right of way easement in gross will be granted to Council.

A copy of SO Plan 557632 being the plan of survey showing the portion of road to be stopped and the public access pedestrian way easement is available for download below. It is also available for inspection at the office of the Manawatu District Council, 135 Manchester Street, Feilding, during normal office hours.

• Background to Road stopping
  The Manawatu District Council (“Council”) proposes to close part of an unformed legal road at Opawe Road, Feilding - as indicated on the aerial photograph below. The Council has instructed The Property Group Ltd (“TPG”) to undertake the road stopping action.
  
  The unformed road is not used as a vehicular road by the general public, but it is used for pedestrian access to the Ruahine Forest Park by hunters and walkers. The unformed road is also occupied by the owner immediately adjoining the unformed road. For this reason, the Council intends that the road will be stopped and amalgamated with the adjoining land in Record of Title (RT) WNB2/1185 and a pedestrian access right of way providing access to the Ruahine Forest Park in favour of Council (and for the benefit of the general public) will be created in accordance with Council resolution.
  
  The piece of Opawe Road shown as Section 1 SO 554632, will be stopped in accordance with Section 342 of the Local Government Act 1974 (Schedule 10)
