COVID-19 Red Setting Update
Currently all of New Zealand is in Red setting of the COVID-19 Protection Framework. From 11:59pm on Tuesday 15 February, New Zealand will be moving to phase 2 of the Omicron response.
What does this mean for people using Council services and facilities?
Manchester Street offices and front of house
Our front of house services will still be available to residents as per its normal hours. Face to face meetings with our staff are allowed provided you have a My Vaccine Pass, wear a mask and are socially distanced. All meetings will take place in the Feilding Room.
Customers who are unable to provide a My Vaccine Pass, meetings will be done online or via phone. If you have issues with accessing reliable technology, please let us know and we will make alternative arrangements.
Council officers will still continue to conduct inspections (building consents, compliance requests etc) under Red.
Council meetings will continue to be held virtually and these recordings will be uploaded to YouTube.
Makino Aquatic Centre and Feilding Library
Both of these facilities will continue to be available during Red to those residents who can provide a My Vaccine Pass. There may be some changes to the services that they provide, but we will keep you informed of these. For now, it's business as usual.
Should the MAC or Feilding Library be identified as a Location of Interest, there is a possibility that we will have to close these facilities for a period of time.
Rubbish and Recycling
All rubbish and recycling will continue to be collected as per normal.
Both the Manawatū Resource Recovery Centre and Rongotea Transfer Station will also be open.
Building and planning
Red setting of the COVID-19 Protection Framework has altered how we operate, which is having an impact in our building and planning services.
