Survey Results and Council Decision
Tararua District Council consulted with the community in 2019 as to whether they wanted to keep the status quo (central government legislated no trading on Easter Sunday) or whether they wanted council to develop a policy and carry out further consultation on that.
There was a total of 103 responses and 70% did not wish to see any change. As a result, Council did not proceed with the development of a local policy.
