Drinking Water
Manawatu District Council is committed to providing a reliable and safe drinking water supply system for its residents and ratepayers.
Although we maintain our drinking water supply at the required standard, quality issues may arise due to weather conditions and other factors. These issues don’t pose any health concerns, and the water is perfectly safe for consumption.
Manawatu District Council manages and maintains the water network that supplies water to homes and businesses in most parts of the District. Manawatū residents are connected to the various water supply schemes and use about 3.2 million cubic metres of water annually - that’s about 260 litres per person each day.
