Upcoming Road Closures

Below is a list of upcoming road closures that are scheduled to take place in 2024 due to planned maintenance work or events being held.

Temporary Closure of Port Street East, Feilding

Manawatu District Council wishes to advise that, Port Street East will be closed to through traffic from its intersection with Pharazyn Street to its intersection with Churcher Street, from 7.00am Monday 27 May 2024 until 5.00pm Tuesday 28 May 2024, to allow for the installation of services. Should weather or other factors outside of the contractors control delay the works, they will be undertaken on the next suitable dates.

Residents will have access to their properties during this closure, please follow instructions from contractors onsite.

Temporary Closure of Grey Street/Manchester Street, Feilding

Manawatu District Council wishes to advise that Grey Street will be closed from its intersection with Church Street to its intersection with Warwick Street, and Manchester Street will be closed from its intersection with Hobson Street to its intersection with Fitzroy Street, from 9.00pm Sunday 19 May to 5.00am Monday 20 May and 9pm Monday 20 May to 5am Tuesday 21 May, in order for pavement rehabilitation works to be undertaken. Should weather or other factors outside of the contractors control delay the works, they will be undertaken on the next suitable dates.

Residents will have access to their properties during this closure, please follow instructions from contractors onsite.

Temporary Closure of Roots Street East, Feilding

Manawatu District Council wishes to advise that Roots Street East, will be closed from its intersection with Churcher Street to the Makino Stream end of the road, starting Monday 18 March through till the end of July, in order to upgrade underground services.

The road will remain open for residents and those visiting residents. Traffic management will be in place during this time, however there may be minor delays caused by construction machinery. Please follow instructions provided by contractors.

Temporary Closure of Otara Bridge, Ohingaiti

Manawatu District Council wishes to advise that Otara bridge, on Otara Road, will be closed between the hours of 9.00am and 3.00pm commencing Tuesday 13 February 2024 until Tuesday 30 April 2024 to allow Riverside Construction Ltd to undertake strengthening works on the bridge.

Please use alternative routes during this time. All current restrictions continue to apply until notified otherwise.
