Pensioner Housing - Swinburn Street
Tararua District Council is investing in 6 new pensioner flats on Swinburn Street, Dannevirke for our community.
With the Tararua District’s ageing population and increased social responsibility, Council plans to increase and modernise its pensioner unit offerings. The Swinburn flats are a big step in this plan to ensure we are providing safe, affordable, warm, and age-friendly flats for retirees.
These flats will have accessible housing design features such as ramps, hand-rails and wet floor showers. More age-friendly attributes include wider doors, grab handles, levers and all units will include a drive-in mobility scooter shed with rolling doors, a first for Tararua pensioner houses.
The construction of the Swinburn Pensioner Houses is being undertaken by local contractors Creative Homes and Council are excited to work with them on this project.
