LG 2439 - Authorisation permitting the use of moped or motorcycles to deliver Mail or printed material on footpaths in the district. 

I refer to your official information request dated 27/02/2026.

 

The information you have requested is below. 

In response to your request, we confirm that Manawatū District Council, as the Road Controlling Authority for the Manawatū District, has previously granted written authorisation permitting the use of vehicles on footpaths within the district for the delivery of mail or printed material. 

This written authorisation was granted for a period of three (3) years from the date of issue and was subject to specified operating conditions. Further applications for this activity may be considered upon receipt and processing of a new application. 

Manawatū District Council publishes responses to Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA).  We will publish the LGOIMA response along with a summary of the request on our website.  Requests and responses may be paraphrased.
