New Citizens welcomed to the District for first Citizenship Ceremony of 2024

The first Citizenship Ceremony for the 2024 year saw 19 new citizens made up of 14 groups of recipients celebrated and warmly welcomed to the Manawatū District last Thursday evening, 21 March 2024.

Power-couple: MDC and Powerco Exploring Renewable Energy Source Initiative

An environmentally-conscious collaboration between Powerco and the Manawatū District Council will see the two investigating ways of upgrading the biogas produced by the Manawatū Wastewater Treatment Plant Anaerobic Digestion system to form renewable natural gas for use in Powerco’s gas network.

Creative Communities Scheme enables a colourful collaboration

Window’s on Manawatū is a collaborative project for the Feilding Civic Centre Trust and local artist Cheryl O’Brien enabled by funding through the Creative Communities Scheme. Applications for the Creative Communities Scheme close March 31.

Stolen Sculpture from Timona Park

The Gill Absolon Memorial Sculpture titled ‘Centurions’ were stolen from Timona Park between March 11 and 14. Council is appealing to the public for help to find the sculptures.
