Public Places Bylaw 2025
On 19 November 2025, Manawatū District Council adopted the reviewed Public Places Bylaw 2025, which will take effect on 1 December 2025.
This bylaw is made under sections 145, 146, and 147 of the Local Government Act 2002 to regulate public places in order to protect the public from nuisance, maintain public health and safety, and minimise offensive behaviour.
The Public Places Bylaw 2025 can be viewed online at www.mdc.govt.nz/documents/bylaws , or in hard copy at the Manawatū District Council Office. Copies are also available on request by phoning the Council on (06) 323 0000.
