Nominate a Young Leader Making a Difference
The Manawatū District Youth Council is excited to announce that nominations are now open for the 2025 Young Achiever Awards. The annual awards shine a spotlight on young individuals who are making a meaningful difference in their communities and beyond.
The Young Achiever Awards honour nominations of youth aged five and beyond through two different age categories: 5-12 years and 13+ years proving that to make an impact there isn’t a limit based on age.
Past nominations demonstrated excellence in areas such as leadership, innovation, community service, advocacy and the arts. “These awards are about recognising the next generation of changemakers – rangatahi who are already stepping up, showing leadership, and making a real impact in their hapori,” says Joey McKechnie, MDC’s Youth Engagement Coordinator. “It’s always inspiring to see their mana, creativity, and commitment to creating a better future for everyone.”
Nominations are being accepted now through to Monday 30 June. Nominations can be submitted online and can be submitted by teachers, peers, mentors, family members or anyone inspired by a young person’s achievements.
