As important as walking and talking, swimming is a skill for life!
The Makino Swim School offers many lesson programmes to suit a wide range of ages and abilities. Each programme is designed to develop your child's swimming ability as well as teach personal and group survival and rescue techniques.
Explorer
Our beginner class - learning to be comfortable in the water, submersions and introduce floating.
Target age: 5+ years
Glider
This class is all about gliding through the water in the correct streamline position and floating by ourselves.
Target age: 5+ years
Paddler
In this class we are learning the correct kick and an introduction to arms.
Target age: 5+ years
Mover
In this class we put together our kick and arms to move through the water.
Target age: 5+ years
Breather
In this class we introduce our breathing and bring in our Breaststroke and Butterfly kicks.
Target age: 5+ years
Swim 1
This class is about continuous Freestyle, Backstroke and Breaststroke for 12.5m.
Target age: 5+ years
Swim 2
Our first level in the 25m pool. It's all about refining our strokes and starting to build distance.
Target age: 5+ years
Swim 3
Bringing together Butterfly with arms and completely swimming 25m Freestyle, Backstroke and Breaststroke.
Target age: 5+ years
Swim 4
Competently swimming 50m in Freestyle, Backstroke and Breaststroke, 25m Butterfly and a medley.
Target age: 5+ years
Advance 1
Competently swimming 100m in Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke and 50m Butterfly.
Target age: 5+ years
Advance 2
Competently swimming 200m in Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke and 100m Butterfly.
Target age: 5+ years
AB Advance Squad
Extending our distance and learning to use the race clock with timed drill sets.
Target age: 10+ years
All Makino Swim School instructors are AUSTSWIM trained.
